About Lyon Family Farms
Lyon Family Farms is owned and operated by Richard and Shelley Lyon.
They bought this land and started the Pumpkin Patch in 2006, but the family farm is nearby, and Richard works there as farm manager.
Richard grew up on his parent’s farm at a time when the family grew primarily 200 acres of Christmas trees, during a time when Stanley was an extension agent.
Today, that farm is primarily a wholesale vegetable farm and also row cropping farm.
Richard graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Ag Economics, and Shelley graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Ornamental Horticulture. They met a few years after college, and were married in 2004.
They have five children, Luke (10), Elizabeth (8), Georgia Rae (6), Tuck Wilder (4) and Scarlett (18m) adding to the joy of running a family-oriented pumpkin patch and farm. Richard’s parents are Stanley and Martha Lyon and his two older siblings are Roger Lyon and Debbie Arnsparger. Shelley’s mom is Rosa Church and her brother is Bryan Page.
Richard and Shelley truly hope you will enjoy your frequent visits to the farm—there are things to do for the whole family.
